How will age be verified?
Each team must submit a list of players to the Gothia Cup administration. All players MUST be able to show proof of identity to verify their age.
The following can be used for identification:
- A valid passport
- ID card issued by the bank, post office or national authority
- Player’s license with photo issued by certain football associations
- LMA cards for refugees
Players from countries where a passport is not required when entering Sweden (e.g. Schengen), the minimum requirement is to present a certified birth certificate with a photograph.
The age control is done at the following locations:
Teams in categories A or B arriving by flight to Landvetter Airport on Friday (July 13th), Saturday (July 14th) or Sunday (July 16th) will do their age control and check in at the airport upon arrival.
Teams lodged in schools booked through Gothia Cup will do their age control at the school or at a school nearby.
Teams lodged in hotels booked through Gothia Cup will do their age control at the hotel.
Teams without accommodation booked through Gothia Cup will do their age control at Exercishuset at Heden on Saturday and Sunday. This can also be done on Monday at Gothia Kungsbacka Center, Kviberg Center, Slätta Damm or Åby before your first game in the tournament.
Each player on the list must be present and be able to show proof of identity.
The age control must be done before Monday at 4:00 pm. Single players can join at a later time on the conditions that they are on the original participant list. Again, they must be able to show proof of identity and at Exercishuset at Heden before he/she plays his/her first game.
