Which rules apply to foreign teams?
Foreign teams must follow the rules that apply in each respective country. Since most countries belong to FIFA, the rules are very similar worldwide. The basic rule, applying to all, is that each player needs to be licensed to play for the club they play for at Gothia Cup. Please note that players cannot belong to a club from a country where the player is not residing.
The club must be registered with the Football Association of its country which in its turn must be a member of FIFA. School teams from countries where school teams can participate in the official football competitions of the national football association and are registered with the national school association are also allowed to participate.
